She began her association with Whyteleafe in 1939 when she became PT mistress. after 4 years she left to raise her 2 sons, but girls at school had the privilege of tuition from her for short periods afterwards. Mss Geekie was a regular attendee at the reunions, very conspicuous by her absence

Miss Lois W Brooker joined the staff at Whyteleafe in 1960 and remained until its closure in 1978. Miss Brooker also taught chemistry.

Pat was at Whyteleafe from 1926 to 1936 when she went to Chelsea P.T.C. Her career culminated in her becoming the head of the P.E. dept. of Chelsea P.T.C.

Miss Bridge passed away after a period of ill health. She taught German and French at Whyteleafe over a long period of time.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Bridge. It made me look back on the happy times we had spent together. The first in the early seventies when with my late husband we gave Miss Bridge a lift to Germany. She was going to stay with Frau Bihl, whose daughter Ursula had spent a term at Whyteleafe. It was very helpful travelling with a language teacher. She found the hotel where we stayed overnight, and she helped us choose our meal.
Then in 1984 with Miss Gwyneth Crisp, we all migrated to Dorset. Miss Edwards would come for a weekend and we would all go over to Beaminster to see Miss Bridge and Miss Crisp. This became a very popular weekend, and we would lunch in the area at an excellent carvery. In fact Miss Bridge’s cousin Bob and his wife Mary joined us as it was so enjoyable.
As Miss Crisp became frailer, Miss Bridge was her lifeline until the end. She even provided the buffet lunch after the funeral!
The last time I saw Miss Bridge was October 2000. Miss Edwards came and just the three of us went for lunch to our regular venue, but it was not the same without her. However I have my happy memories.

We were all sad to learn of the death of Miss Bridge in July. She spent 23 years teaching French and German at Whyteleafe and during that time arranged for and accompanied 9 different parties of seniors to take part in a family exchange visit to Vienna. The careful preparation made between Miss Bridge and her former colleagues at the school in Vienna ensured the success of those visits ans her own enthusiasm for the history, art and music of that city quickly infected others. Many of those who went not only enjoyed their stay, but have also made lifelong friends.
After retiring Miss Bridge went to live in Dorset until she became ill and eventually entered a nursing home in Stourbridge to be near her nephew. She was happy there for two and a half years during which time I visited her, and know how much she appreciated the cards and messages she received from Old Whyteleafeans.
Mrs Thomas nee Jones and I attended her funeral not only as her personal friend, but also as representatives of the school

It is with really deep regret that we have to inform of the death of Vivienne Parkinson who attended Whyteleafe from 1960-1965. Viv had a long and courageous battle against cancer which she finally lost last summer. Such was her warm and sparkling personality that over 200 old friends attended her funeral.
Many will remember Viv as the original Dedicated Follower (and in fact leader)of Fashion, who, unlike most of the rest of us, actually wore the clothes she made in needlework lessons.
Viv had a wonderful life whish she enjoyed to the full and she travelled and partied extensively. She is so greatly missed by her friends and family.
